A Palette of Poetry is the  2014 Poems in the Waiting Room  “PoArtry” exhibition.

Our first exhibition, When North meets South, involved  12 North Island haiku poets and 22 Dunedin artists.

Our 2013 exhibition, Bellamys at Five, was a celebration of our fifth birthday and the 20th edition of Poems in the Waiting Room. We invited 29 artists from around New Zealand to create a work in their chosen medium in response to poems which had appeared in our cards over the last five years.

This year’s exhibition is  much simpler involving 30 artists responding to poems which I’ve had published in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and the UK, over the last ten years.

All the art work will be offered for sale at our October exhibition. Poems in the Waiting Room will take a small commission on all sales which will go towards our printing costs for future PitWR cards.

In the weeks leading up to the exhibition each artist will be profiled alongside examples of their work.

The exhibition will open on Sunday October 5  at 2pm at the Community Gallery at 20 Princes St, Dunedin and run through to Sunday October 19.  Keep an eye on the Events Page for details about workshops we’re offering, a poetry reading and artist event.
