Katy Buess
Last year Katy and Rob were in Timor-Leste for six months with VSA. So there was no competition really, Katy’s artwork for our Bellamys at Five exhibition came from the remotest location.
I was pleased to meet Katy earlier this year when I had a weekend trip down South. I was able to report that her 2013 exhibition drawing, Green Tea, had settled very happily into its new home – mine!
Introducing Katy
I am a New Zealand-born artist of Swiss parents, currently based in Invercargill. For many years I have been printmaking and more recently experimenting with paper sculpture.
As someone who has spent most of her adult life working part-time in the book trade, I particularly enjoy the inspiration poetry has to art and vice versa.
